The Truth About Car Accidents, Whiplash &
Soft Tissue Injuries That You Must Know.
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It is estimated that more than 1 million people are diagnosed with whiplash in the United States each year. Whiplash can be caused by falls, such as from a bicycle or horse; contact sports such as football, hockey or boxing; or a blow to the head from a physical assault or falling object, but the most common cause is motor vehicle accidents.
Less severe causes of whiplash are recurring stress injuries or persistent strain involving the neck, such as using your neck to hold the phone, or riding a roller coaster and other amusement park rides.
One out of every five people (20 percent) in- volved in a rear-end collision later have neck pains, which may develop into whiplash, ac- cording to the American Academy of Ortho- paedic Surgeons. Statistics from The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety show that whiplash is reported in about 2 million insurance claims per year in the United States, at a cost of $7 billion a year.
We’ve had the privilege of coming along many people in this community, helping them to achieve their highest level of health possible after suffering a whiplash accident, and we’d be honored to work with you.

Making sense of your whiplash treatment begins by understanding your injuries. In many cases the most significant damage in the spine is to the spinal ligaments, the bands of tissue that hold the bones in the neck and back together.
When the ligaments are stretched or partially torn after a car accident, scar tissue begins to form within a week in the spine. This is why it is so important to start restoring movement in the spine as soon as possible after the crash. Otherwise, excessive scar tissue can form and create further…
